Lucy said: "We're trying to target people who watch Corrie and it's important it's on at an early time so we target the people we're trying to reach."
"I was really nervous because I was only on the show for two years so it was a big responsibility for me. In a way, it's really great I've been given this opportunity as an actor I can sink my teeth into it and I want to do it justice for all the survivors.
"We've done harrowing scenes that have been horrific to film," Lucy says, and she talked about the ways she copes with taking on this storyline.
Lucy says her boyfriend finds it hard to watch the scenes, as does her dad, seeing his daughter acting out these scenes on the TV. Her mum is supportive, she says.
