In next week's Coronation Street we'll see young Craig Tinker take his first steps as a Coronation Street copper. You can read more on that here.
This has turned my thoughts towards other regular characters who have the cobbles as a copper, so let's take a look back through the history books.
I hope Craig won't turn out to be anything like one of the last coppers we had - evil Kirsty Soames.
And there was Emma Watts, who married Curly and drove him away to live in Newcastle.
Mel Morton trained to be a policewoman too.
Hang on a minute, these are all women! What about the men?
Have we ever had any regular male characters who have trained or worked as policemen on Coronation Street? Let us know in the comments below.

Do Mick Hopwood and Alan McKenna count?
Betty's beloved Cyril Turpin, of course! I'm pretty sure he would have been the first.
I remember all these characters - surprised that they're all so recent - none from the 80s, 70s?
I'm so glad they decided to make Craig a copper, rather than finding something in the faktry, bistro, pub or cafe. He's a great character with a lot of potential.
Cyril Turpin is the only one I can recollect. Any others would've only been guests. Can't wait to see where this goes with Craig, very happy.
Lets have a photo and a bit of a write up on Cyril Turpin ! .... Corrie's first Policeman ! he was a jolly chap !
There was also Tony Cunliffe who dated both Rita and Bet in 1984
