Producers responsible for working the Storylines and Scripts for
Coronation Street.
As we transition to six episodes, Coronation
Street is looking for an experienced Story Producer to join our busy
hard working team, ensuring that every single one of our episodes are
top quality entertainment.
Working to the Producer, Assistant
Producer and the Creative Director of ITV Soaps, the Story Producer will
translate the programme brief, work with the writing and story/script
team to creatively define the style and content of the programme. The
Story Producer will liaise with the production team to ensure the
correct balance of cast and locations for ease of scheduling and will be
responsible for the smooth running of the triple stand system, whilst
maintaining the highest quality in terms of content. He/she will be an
ideas person, who knows how to structure and tell an exciting story, and
can translate that skill amongst your team.
The Story Producer
will develop the storylines from conference through to scripts,
primarily focusing on long-term story planning, and work with the story
team in producing short-term storylines. He/she will co-chair
commissioning and story conference with the Producers, and chair regular
small groups out of conference with the story and writing team, to
maintain constant creation of story and direction for characters.
The
successful candidate will join us with experience as a Script Editor or
Story Editor with a wide ranging knowledge of television production
processes and an awareness of new developments across the media. We will
be looking for demonstrable experience of effectively managing,
motivating, monitoring and developing a team
