Coronation Street job vacancy: Props Dressers


This just in from ITV Jobs.

Coronation Street is even bigger and better than ever and we are looking for Props Dressers to join our busy Design team.

What the role entails…

We are looking for Props Dressers to undertake the dressing and striking of our sets both in studio and on location. Our Props Dressers are responsible for ensuring that all operations are conducted in a safe and appropriate manner.

Some Key Responsibilities:

Setting and striking of scenery throughout the filming process - both in studio and location environments - in accordance with the relevant codes of practice, safety procedures and Health and Safety Legislation. This will be on a regular basis.

Set Dressing - including Pre-dressing & striking of sets and locations in conjunction with the Production Designer, Supervising Art Director and Art Directors.

Creative and practical input into dressing sets and locations

Working across a range of tasks within the department and working both on camera and off camera depending on production requirements.

Driving duties as appropriate, to include maintaining and checking company vehicles in accordance with Drivers Rules and Working Time regulations and procedures each time a vehicle is used.

Completion of necessary documentation and on time, where deadlines apply.

To have the ability to also work within an Action Props role and attend to the production needs when required.

To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:

A wide range of experience working within TV Drama/film/theatre Design environments.

A full, clean driving license.

Food Hygiene qualification and Health and Safety qualification (IOSH or similar)  is desirable.

Great communication, teamwork and leadership skills - able to effectively communicate with a range of different people.

IT skills and the ability to embrace new technology.

The ability and skill to make specialised props when needed.

Proactivity and problem solving Skills.

Due to the nature of the role absolute confidentiality is required. These roles require a very flexible approach to work and working hours as you will be required to work on a roster basis. You will also be expected to move and dismantle heavy scenery on a regular basis.

Coronation Street Job Vacancy: Trainee Production / Editorial Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity available within our Editorial and Production departments at Coronation Street. The role will be based with the busy and hard-working Production and Editorial teams, which are responsible for the successful and accurate delivery of timed scripts and the smooth running of production.

This role entails…

We are looking for a trainee that is passionate about gaining a broad knowledge and understanding of the Production and Editorial Departments and the processes. Once confident in the processes of the departments, the successful candidate will be expected to cover a range of different roles within the Production and Editorial departments from researcher to production secretary. Some of their Key Responsibilities will be as follows;

Liaising with advisors, writers and the script editing team.

Reading scripts to identify compliance, neg checking and music clearances.

Dealing with viewers by phone, letter and email and logging all feedback.

Compiling lists of clips for individual characters.

Preparation of all aspects of scripts for the Pre Production of the programme.

Preparing/Updating  Purchase Orders and Costing of weekly location vehicles requests.

Assisting with call sheet creation,  schedule distribution & office administration.

To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following:

Strong Administrative Skills.

Self motivated worker with a drive to succeed.

Strong IT skills- confident in Google Drive, Word and Excel.

The ability to talk to many different people in lots of different professions.

Excellent attention to detail and administration experience.

Desire to learn about how the programme is made and understand the key stages in the process.

Previous experience in the industry and a passion for Coronation Street.

ITV Job Vacancy: Trainee Grip Assistant on Coronation Street,


Trainee Grip Assistant- Coronation Street

Coronation Street is seeking a Trainee Grip Assistant to join our collaborative camera team.

As our Trainee, you will shadow and observe members of our Grips Department in order to develop a good understanding of how they support our Camera Operators on both location and on occasions in the studio, helping us achieve quality pictures.

You will learn the importance of working both technically and creatively and will have to establish good working, professional relationships with a wide range of production personnel including cast, directors, camera operators and other crew.  You will learn the responsibilities associated for the management of equipment, rigging/erecting and derigging of camera cranes and dollies together with other associated grip equipment in a safe, efficient and professional manner.  You will also have to assist with the organising and undertaking of transportation of equipment from base to location, therefore a driving licence is essential.

You will join us with a willingness to learn, together with a proactive and adaptable approach when working with different people, including artistes. You will have creative flair and the ability to think visually helping the Camera Operator achieve their shots. 

Experience of working in a TV or film environment, preferably on drama, in a cameras or a technical assisting role, is required.  You will be expected to move, transport and erect equipment such as camera cranes and dollies on a daily/regular basis. A full, clean driving licence and a knowledge of Health and Safety is essential. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work flexibly with regards to working hours and discretion is a must.

This opportunity is offered on a 12 month contract and performance will be regularly reviewed through the 12 month traineeship.  After 12 months the successful candidate should have gained the desired skills to assist Grips Departments across continuing drama.

ITV Job Vacancy: Runners wanted at Coronation Street

This just in from ITV.

We have an amazing opportunity to join our team of Runners at Coronation Street.

The role of Runner is an entry-level position within the TV industry but it’s an important role to fill. As our Runner you will be expected to support our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Assistant Directors, help artistes through the costume and make up process and communicate the progress with your team ensuring scripts, camera plans and call sheets are available. You will work on the studio floor and locations and ensure there is clear access and egress and areas are kept tidy.

The overall responsibility of Runners is to complete whatever task is assigned to them as quickly and as efficiently as possible.  As even small details may cause interruptions or delays to filming, all their duties must be carried out rapidly, so that the shoot can progress smoothly.

Our Floor Runner will have a can do attitude and an appreciation and passion for programme making in keeping with Coronation Street’s high production values. In this fast paced role, excellent communication skills are a prerequisite, as is your ability to deal with people of all levels. Due to the nature of the role you must be able to accept flexible working hours and work with absolute discretion and confidentiality and be able to work with talk back.

To join our team you will need experience and credits working as a Runner in Continuing Drama with a proven interest in and passion for TV. You must have a high level of accuracy, be organised with excellent attention to detail and have working knowledge of production schedules. You must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to liaise with production and non production staff.

Due to the nature of the role absolute confidentiality is required. These roles require a very flexible approach to work and working hours as you will be required for some out of hours working including some evenings & weekends, Coronation Street is not 9-5.

Hours within Tour operating times (mainly weekend) and for any other bookings, corporate or private hire throughout the calendar.
Rate of Pay: £9.50 per hour on a Fixed Term Contract Basis

Coronation Street the Tour is heading into its third successful year on the Live Television set based at MediaCity UK.

We are looking for energetic, charismatic and reliable team members to be the face of the attraction. You will be the first contact with ITV seen by our visitors, you will lead our interactive guided tours and be an ambassador for our high standards and customer service excellence. Our team will also add complimentary features to the attraction with our shop, F&B and Photo opportunities
