Coronation Street has an opportunity for an experienced storyliner/story editor to support the story producer and producer in creating and delivering our storylines.

We’re looking for a talented story editor to join our editorial department, helping to create and produce storylines to the highest standard. Liaising with the Series Producer, the Assistant Producer and the Story Producer, you will prepare, supervise and edit storyline documents ensuring they’re delivered to agreed deadlines and to the highest possible standard.

You would be responsible for leading talk-throughs, editing storylines, liaising with Production and chairing story meetings when appropriate.

You will have a proven track record in storylining and script editing in continuing drama and a fluent understanding of the production process. You’ll be brimming with story ideas and have a genuine passion for Coronation Street. This is not a role for the faint-hearted – you must be passionate, energetic, dedicated, talented, and resilient. Above all, you’ll have a great sense of humour to get you through the long hours.

In return, you’ll get to work with a brilliant team and be part of an institution, helping to create unmissable drama, 52 weeks of the year. This will be your chance to make your mark on the cobbles.

I hate to say this but sounds like they need Stephen King in this role. He is an insanely prolific writer with an over-abundance of ideas constantly pouring from his mind. Just think what mayhem and suspense he could create on the Cobbles!

They need to check out some of these fan based chat/blog sites for ideas. I've read a ton of great storyline ideas from Corrie fans.

I agree with you Anon 02:18 AND the storylines from the fans are way better than anything we are getting from the show right now. Maybe what they need is a good blog editor to take all the suggestions from fans and come up with decent storylines. Could be really fun and a joy to watch.
