Heartbroken Gail rages at Leanne in Coronation Street
Gail is going to have a few words to say to Leanne next week in Coronation Street, when she finds out what's happened to Nick.
In this week's fab Inside Soap magazine, they tell us that Gail will be devastated at the loss of her golden boy Nick. And she's going to pin the blame squarely with Leanne.
With Leanne equally distraught by Nick's absence, she's mortified when Gail lays into her and makes no bones about the fact that with Nick now gone, she doesn't want to be involved with Leanne or her baby Oliver either.
With Nick gone, Leanne is left to bring up Oliver as a single mum with his dad Steve always looking over her shoulder.

Gone or dead? No one seems to know for sure...
Dead
If they don't find a body possibly he may dissapear and show up in a few years when he decides to come back
Must be dead judging by Gail's face. Surely the body would come to light when the tide goes out? What an awful way to go!
Gail never approved of anyone Nick dated or married. I wonder if Nick has really died or not? If he really drowned in quicksand, would they even find the body?
Let Leanne and Steve get together. It would be an interesting pairing.
Maybe Gail could wade out to sea looking for him and never come back.
OMG Must be dead by the look on Gail's face. She will never ever get over this one.
Leanne Single mum! Don't believe it, it will only be five minutes before she is shacked up with someone else :) Nick looked pretty precarious to me, up to his neck in quicksand.
In some way, I guess it's an honour to the actor if they kill off the character - like retiring the jersey number of an athlete - presuming that Ben Price has said he definitively does not want to return. On the other hand, where Gail is concerned, it's not conceivable that a human being could bear up under this amount of loss. Ivy lost her husband and son. It was credible that she would lose a part of her mind under the circumstances. How many husbands has Gail lost so far? Her daughter in law? And now her favourite son? It defies realism or psychology.
I was thinking the same as Anon 17.21. To have lost as many loved ones, her life savings, she should be reaching for that bottle of cyanide by now. Either that or be in competition with Mother Theresa for sainthood.
Perhaps if Nick is indeed dead, it's time for Gail to depart from the show. I am not looking forward to her hysterics and drama. Why the heck is it Leeanne's fault if he is dead, she certainly didn't kill him.
I'm not a Nick fan but I really hope they're not killing him off. He's too valuable of a character, with so many ties to the street. Why not leave the door open for him to come back? Or at least have the option to use him for unexplained absences (when Helen Worth needs a break, Nick could have an accident so Gail needs to go and nurse him back to health), as they're so fond of doing.
Drowning in quicksand - what a metaphor for his life!
I don't think he's dead. They're being very cagey in their terms, and Gail would be just as bereft if Nick only just left town. She did the same thing when he scarpered to Canada after their first marriage broke up. She wasn't happy about Carla taking him to Cornwall at first and when he moved to Nottingham, she was upset then as well. Since they've recast him as an adult twice now, there's no reason they can't do that again if they want to bring Nick back again in future providing he is, as i suspect, alive. And there's no real reason why Gail should want to be happy families with Leanne and Oliver. She did think of him as her grandson but found out soon enough that he wasn't. She already thought poorly of Leanne for that.
I wouldn't read too much into that pic of Gail in hysterics. We don't know if it's a screengrab from next week, or just a stock picture of Gail emoting (Nora?)
If Nick is dead, though, and assuming he hasn't left a will, I believe his mother would be his next of kin and would inherit the Bistro and the Victoria Road flat - provided his marriage to Carla has been annulled. If not ... well, there were rumours of Carla's return.
If Nick does die and Gail rejects Oliver, I hope David says something about it. What kind of a signal does that send Max after they just went through a huge process of welcoming Oliver into the family?
I don't think she has to be around them all the time, but making a big deal of wanting nothing to do with them is over the top and unnecessary.
I also hope David has a few words with his mother or even Audrey talks sense into her daughter.
I also will be feeling sorry for David who despite his own grief will have to deal with his mother's somewhat over the top [I meant no offense]grief for the favoured golden son Nick.
Dead or alive Gail is assuming Nick will leave Leanne with nothing but if he were to leave Leanne and Gail his share in the Bistro there would be no way to cut ties. Anyways they're living on the same small street so how distant can they ever really be.
