Corrie Weekly Awards for March 27 - 31
Upstanding Citizen award: Todd for not deleting the video that proves Phelan's alibi.
The Straw the broke the Camel's Back award: Todd pushed Pat a little too far with his jokes about the spirit world and Pat nearly took his head off! Lessons learned, Todd.
Return of the Native: Alex is back. We've not seen hide nor hair of him since the Christmas Catastrophe wedding, have we?
What's Done is Done award: Daniel actually seemed a big glad to see Sinead at the hospital.
Lines of the week:
Daniel to Ken "Who else is there to blame?" (*coughKencough*)
Tracy "Luke, don't lie to me because I'm better at it than you are"
Peter "I've got me very own wrecking ball...me dad"
Sally "I'd have more time for these trolls if they could spell!"
Audrey "There's more than one member of that family that's been up on a murder charge before"
Peter "I'm just as sick of my pathetic excuses as you are"
Todd "My boyfriend has helped me develop a moral compass and I can't say I'm happy with it"

Okay, here's what's bugging me: Phelan has been ruled out because Todd's footage shows him at the builders yard flat at the time Ken was attacked. However, we KNOW Phelan WAS at Ken's when Daniel arrived. What's to say Phelan didn't do it seconds before Daniel came in? I can't see how the footage exonerates him at all! Am I missing something here?
Yes, you are. The police said they knew the time Ken was attacked as his watch was broken, so they could see what time the watch stopped. So if the time on the watch matched the time on recording, then there's the alibi. I'm sure the GMP would've cross referenced both times
If I'm remembering my Columbo episodes correctly, criminals routinely change the time on their victims' watches to match a period they have an alibi for ;-)
Maybe the clock on the footage hadn't been put forward the hour last Sunday ;-)
Interesting point about the summer time change. Thinking about it, the police emphasised the fact that they knew the time of Ken's fall. But suppose it was Ken's watch that hadn't been put forward. It was only the following day. Not everyone gets round to adjusting their watches and Ken's not quite on the ball as he used to be. What time did Phelan storm out of the pub?
