Has Dev had a glow up on holiday? He's come back tanned, trimmed, groomed and slim in a silk shirt. And he's no longer a silver fox but a badger. He's also come back to Aadi's insurance fraud, which I presume is going to lead to Alahan Jnr starting a new life in Leeds or something rather, than TPTB re-setting up the STC set. I also presume that Dev will find out about this just as he's about to walk up the Bistro's aisle with Bernie. Later on, Lauren and Aadi share a kiss, so I guess all this subterfuge has been worth it. Incidentally, just exactly how many matching pieces of athleisurewear does Lauren own?
I hope Gary doesn't take on Theo's scaffolding company for his building work given that Theo hasn't bee up any scaffolding since March. Theo wants he and Todd to move in together despite the fact they're already living together (rent free?), albeit with George and Mary. But later on, Theo tells a fellow scaffolder that Todd is actually Toddessa and has a hairy back (rude). Worse is to come when Mr Gay Conversion, who has presumably put a tracker on Theo's phone, turns up to be a third wheel on Theo's date with Todd and tries to persuade him to come to a meeting, which is at Jamila house. Not sure who's running the community centre since Yasmeen left, but surely they wouldn't allow a homophobic group to meet there? Also what's happened to Li'l Big Shotz since Glenda was promoted? All those poor theatre kids abandoned by their mentor. I guess they'll have to do an interpretive dance about their feelings.
Meanwhile at the hotel, Debbie is not particularly sympathetic to someone with hayfever. The struggle is real, Debs! The guest films Debbie's overreaction on her phone and is going to post it to socials but Ryan intervenes and Debbie is so grateful she plants a smacker on Ryan's chops. Inappropriate snogging in the workplace, Webster! He is worried about her and having read the What To Do When Your Boss Who Has Vascula Dementia Behaves Strangely from Dr Gaddas's stash of leaflets, he tells Ronnie, which leads to Ry being sacked. This is a sexual harassment industrial tribunal in the making.
Talking of sexual harassment, sex pest Carl pretends to be a mugger to his sister with the aforementioned dementia and grabs her bag. Sensitive! He has a bruise from being thumped by the loan shark to whom he owes £50K, so Debbie offers him an iced finger and a loan but reneges when she finds out the full amount he needs.
Also in need of ready cash is Lou, asking Sal for money that the Metcalfes don't have to pay for an expensive lawyer in M16 (what do we get for our trouble and pain? A fancy lawyer in Whalley Range?) What's wrong with Adam or Deedee? Some folk are no better than they ought to be. Also in prison news, Michael is too lazy to put new toner in the office printer so uses the one in Carla's office (is Sarah the office manager? Surely she should've networked the printers) and discovers a letter to Logan Ratcliffe requesting a prison visit, which I presume is re: the Becky corruption case, which I thought had been quietly forgotten about.
