STEVE AND MICHELLE SAY GOODBYE Steve enters the Chapel of Rest to find Michelle asleep on a chair. Steve gazes emotionally at Ruairi’s tiny body in the coffin. Michelle wakes, grateful to find Steve there. Promising never to mention the kiss, Robert heads off. Michelle kisses Ruairi goodbye and tells Steve that she wants the funeral to be a private affair with just the two of them present. Billy conducts Ruairi’s funeral as the two parents come together united in their grief. NICK’S PARANOIA BOILS OVER When a delivery man calls at the Rovers with a parcel, Liz is horrified to realise it’s the moses basket she ordered for Ruairi. Liz calls on Leanne and offers her the basket, explaining that she doesn’t want Michelle or Steve to see it. Leanne’s touched and when she feels her baby kick, she allows Liz to feel it too. But how will Nick react when he arrives home to see the gift and to the realisation that Liz knows their baby is Steve’s?
HAS AIDAN PUSHED ALYA TOO FAR? Adam barges his way into the factory and demands a valuation of the business but Aidan and Johnny tell him to sling his hook, promising they’ll see him in court. Adam approaches Alya and suggests that if she can do some digging and help him with his case against the Connors, he’ll make it worth her while. When Alya suggests she deserves a promotion, Aidan’s dismissive leaving Alya annoyed. Has this pushed Alya to make the deal with Adam?
ELSEWHERE When Brian flouts the house rules yet again, Norris tells him to consider himself evicted. As Roy mulls over his next model railway project with Shona, they’re interrupted by the arrival of Brian with all his worldly goods in tow. But does Roy really want a companion?

I was looking forward to Brian's return but I am disappointed. He's not a neat fit any more.
Not everyone is steeped in Christianity, Anonymous. Linda, a Moses basket is a wicker bassinet for a new-born baby to sleep in.
Dig not called for..a simple explanation would have sufficed.
Thanks to everyone for coming to my defense. To be accurate, though, you could also be Jewish to understand that reference. I thought it was something special. For instance, I would not have known it had to be wicker.
I likewise am disappointed in Brian's return. Julie should have come back too, maybe then he would have a better fit.
Why not just call it a bassinet?
I only ASSUMED it would be a bassinet for the baby, based on the word BASKET. I'm not religious, so if the word Moses is supposed to be the 'give away' -- wrong.
Because that's an American/Canadian word! In the UK, it's a Moses basket. The word bassinet I'd never used over here
Adam pressing on Alya in order to get into Underworld is yet another repeat of a plot in the past ---Nick manipulating Kelly to get into the partnership in Underworld with Carla and then they both turn on Kelly.

Yes, I know that wouldn't give us the interaction between him and others. It was quite good to see Sean and Norris together. When Brian first returned I thought he would be a good friend for Mary, but we haven't seen her for ages!
If all we are going to do is argue over about who is right about the Moses basket then what is the point?? It really doesn't matter in the whole scheme of things. What is more important is how pointless this episode is, Moses basket or no Moses basket.
As it happens, I am American and had never seen or heard of one until I was at school in France, where it is called a moïse. Had to look it up (pre-google) in spite of being Jewish and felt like a complete idiot for not getting the reference right away.
Thought it was a lovely gesture from Liz and enjoyed her and Leanne tonight. Nick, OTOH, deserved a push into the canal. What a jerk.
Agree with you Abby about Nick. What a nasty person he has turned into.
Why is Leanne with Nick? He is just horrible. Drains the joy out of everything.
Nick has never been a nice person. He was a scowly resentful teenager, then a whiny, selfish pretty boy and he's now arrogant and a control freak. No change there, then, only an escalation of "tosser" as he ages.

Tosser is the right word for nick or 'nasty nick' we should call him (like the original big brother show in the UK) :)
