Coronation Street is even bigger and better than ever!! This year we are moving to 6 Episodes per week and so we are looking for a Setting Supervisor to join our busy Design team, who ensure that every single one of our episodes is top-drawer telly!
This role is a training opportunity where we will support and develop you, enabling you to work effectively as part of the Design team, ensuring that our studios, associated sets, scenery and all areas therein are coordinated in the most efficient and safe manner. During the contract duration you will receive full and thorough training from a highly experienced team.
We will look to you to be responsible for coordinating the smooth running of setting, striking and re-setting of scenery and furniture during filming as well as overseeing the Health and Safety aspects of sets in the studio. You will be responsible for reading Director’s shooting plans, and preparing sets in studio ready to accommodate their shooting requirements. You will also be expected to read and understand detailed construction plans of the sets and scenery, and ensure studio orderliness and cleanliness is maintained.
You will work closely with and alongside the Design, Props and Construction crew on a daily basis, and are expected to be part of this team on the studio floor. Liaising with the Construction Manager and their team you will ensure the efficient setting, dismantling, moving and storing of scenery. The role will involve manual labour and can be physically demanding. You must be able to work alone or as part of a team, and have excellent communication skills.
Our Setting Supervisor will have extensive knowledge and experience of both the Design and Prop departments, and a knowledge of scenic construction is essential. Experience of the production process is favourable, and certificates in IOSH or equivalent H&S certification are crucial.
