Senior Script Editor - Coronation Street
Manchester
Coronation
Street is even bigger and better than ever and we are moving to 6
Episodes next year too so we are looking for an experienced Senior
Script Editor to join our busy hard working team, ensuring that every
single one of our episodes are absolute top quality entertainment.
Your
role will involve attending and contributing to Coronation Streets
story conferences, reading submitted scripts and offering creative and
structural editing notes to the Producer warning of major continuity,
technical, schedule and cast issues. We will look to you to lead /
contribute in first draft script meetings, in line with the Producers
notes/comments and work with script writers in editing and rewriting
scripts as required.
You will attend Director’s meetings, as
required, with detailed script, story and continuity notes, receive and
circulate to Script Supervisors all script rewrites and amendments, and
inform the Producer(s) of any implications for later scripts. You will
follow your scripts through all the stages of production from
pre-production to editing, dealing with various levels of personnel,
therefore strong communication skills are a must.
You must
demonstrate previous continuing drama script editing experience with
sound editorial judgement and an eye for detail with the ability to
generate creative ideas whilst displaying an awareness of a rolling
production schedule.
You should be conscientious and have a
creative but logical mind. Coronation Street is moving to a 6 Episode,
52 week commission and as such may facilitate long and unsocial working
hours.
This is an excellent opportunity to prove yourself in one of the nation’s top soaps!
Our
people are our greatest asset and, as an equal opportunities employer,
we welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds to work both in front of
and behind the cameras.

I think they could do with an army of these, continuity is not a strong point.
