Actor Robert Vaughn, who played Milton Fanshaw in Coronation Street, has passed away aged 83.

Robert Vaughn turned up in Corrie in 2012 as American Milton Fanshaw, a love interest for Roy's mum Sylvia.  However, he is best known for his role in the Man from Uncle. He also starred in the Magnificent Seven and Hustle.

He is survived by wife Linda, son Cassidy and daughter Caitlin.

“Mr. Vaughn passed away with him family around him,” his manager told website Deadline.

I thought so! I knew he played a part in Corrie. I wonder if Sylvia is ever going to come back?

I never watched the American shows Vaughn was in, but loved him in Hustle, and as Sylvia's ukulele mentor. Condolences, he seemed a lovely man.

Considering he is an American it's sad that I had to learn about his passing on the Corrie St. blog - didn't see or hear anything from the American media, then again we are being bombarded by the results of the election.
