Earlier this morning, I posted a video showing Sue Nicholls (Audrey Roberts) and Jill Summers (Phyllis Pearce) dancing and singing along to a Madonna song. Great way to start a Wednesday, I reckon. You can watch it all here.
Anyway, it got me thinking about some of the best and worst times when Coronation Street cast members branched out into singing. Here's five of the most, er, memorable ones.
Feel free to add your own recommendations in the comments and we might get another blog post out of them.
Julie Goodyear's version of These Boots are Made For Walking
Sally Whittaker doing an enthusiastic version of Never Can Say Goodbye
Adam Rickett's (sadly) unforgettable I Breathe Again.
Sue Nicholls (Audrey Roberts) singing Where Will You Be?
Lynne Perrie (Ivy Tilsley) singing I've Never Been a Woman Before.

Jeanie: Hilarious! Ivy (and the actress who plays her) was/is legend. Mike as the sidekick/toyboy is icing on the cake!
Jeanie (anon): And Curly looks surprisingly good in that tux (or I am the one who's over-dosed on Easter chocolate!) Audrey's a natural.
If I ever met Sally Dynevor nee Whitaker I'm pretty sure this performance would be the first thing I talked to her about.
Most memorable for me is Bill Waddington's take on Always Look On The Bright Side of Life with Betty in the video looking bewildered as Percy sings to her and then Percy having to deal with Maud Grimes and the mistletoe and the unforgettable moment of Gail Tilsley/Platt/Hillman/McIntyre/Rodwell and Maxine Peacock as Santa's elves haha
