There are some absolutely priceless pictures which have been uncovered showing behind the scenes at Coronation Street 50 years ago.

These photos are fascinating. I was around at the time and had a four line part in 1973. I well remember rehearsing in that giant space on the 5th floor; the 'sets' being marked out on the floor with gaffer tape. We had to shoot each part in one take with 4 cameras, the tension was enormous because if a mistake (another camera or a mike coming into shot, or actor forgetting lines) happened, we would have to start again. Nightmare, but what memories!
