If you're wondering where you've seen John the Bishop before when he turned up on Coronation Street last night, wonder no more.
John the Bishop is played by actor Brian Bovell, best known as Jez Littlewood in Gimme Gimme Gimme (written by Corrie scriptwriter Jonathan Harvey).
He's no stranger to soap, having appeared in Hollyoaks.
Brian Bovell's Spotlight page is here.

He was in The Bill as well - Rob Thatcher?
Yup DC Rob Thatcher, he was in The Bill for two years.
He didn't come across as a convincing bishop.
I think that was the point. The previous bishop was narrow-minded and intolerant of Billy's homosexuality. This one is meant to be modern and open to new ideas, as shown in his chat with Todd. Not sure he'd be happy if Billy moved Todd into the vicarage, though.
I don't remember the blog askin where we had seen Izzy's solicitor before - I think he was Mark Fowler's friend Steve in Eastenders quite a lot of years ago.
I could've heard it wrong, but at one point I could've sworn the vicar had said he was gay too? Did i hear wrong? It was when he was talking to Todd when they were drinking the red.
