Well, ITV have denied that it's true.
A Coronation Street spokesperson today said in a statement:
"There is no issue at all with the number of people on holiday. School holidays are obviously a busier time of year but all cast holidays are booked four months in advance and are spaced out to accommodate storylines and scheduling."

What a complete non-story! Of course they're able to accommodate holidays!
The trouble is some of the actors come back from holiday with a tan you would not get in Weatherfield. I know you could say they have fake tans but I can't see some of the characters going in for fake tan.
