In today's Sun, they quote actor Charlie Lawson teasing a possible return to Coronation Street as Jim McDonald.
Charles spoke to The Sun Online and said that Jim might be returning to the show. He said: “I speak to Simon [Gregson] every fortnight, or every week in fact, and he always lets me know what’s going on and I believe there’s the possibility of something happening sort of over the winter time.”
He continued: “.... there are rumours around that there might be something to do with something I can’t really discuss. Watch this space.”

I wish they'd bring back the elder Windass (I forget his first name!). He was a real character.
If they do bring him back can he please stop fawning over Liz and move on a bit - arrive with a new wife as a surprise or something! As with Peter, I don't want to go over old ground again and again.
I always enjoy a visit from Big Jim!
Tvor, me too!

Please let this be true, I LOVE Jim McDonald, so I do!
Please no. Don't let this be true. He's a one trick pony that passed it's sell by date years ago. Not a good idea
Agree with the last comment. We've been down this road too many times already. They really need to kill off this irritating character once and for all.
We complain when siblings (Becky)don't show up for funerals or when daughters (Rosie) don't show up for mum's wedding, but when a father shows up we still complain. Remember a "legend" is going to be killed off. Perhaps Jim comes back for his or her funeraL
I love when Big Jim stops by! Bring him back!
Rebecca, why? Jim comes back, rows with Steve, hates any of Liz's partners, bully's people, and causes with trouble with all and sundry. People complain about repetitive storylines, but that's all this character is a continuous loop of repetitive storylines
Me too, so long as they give up this nonsense that we had last time of him being a villain!
Bring him back with a wife/girlfriend and teenage kids. That I would like to see but not if he is still lusting after Liz.
Well, he will be obviously. He'll get released from "the big house". He'll head straight back to Weatherfield to try and get Liz back again. Boring and predictable. Can't he visit Andy instead?
