Coronation Street review: January 2016

It's almost the end of yet another year on the cobbles. And so, without any further ado, here we go with a round-up of events from Coronation Street month by month - in 100 words or less.

January 2016

Emily leaves for Peru, Carla discovers Johnny's her dad, Hope goes into remission, Ken dumps Nessa and flirts with Audrey, Cathy's house burns down, Preston's Petals opens, Kev and Anna get together, Mary dates Brendan, Steph's caught up in revenge porn, Carla's in hospital after Bistro break in, Roy leaves to look after his poorly mum, Sally decides to stand as a councillor, Alex starts work at Roy's Rolls, Jenny Bradley contacts Rita over th'interweb, Audrey and Ken flirt, Gary threatens Phelan.

Quotes of the month:
“Sometimes life isn’t very nice,” Audrey tells Gail.
“You don’t have to tell me that, I was married to a serial killer,” Gail replies.

Mary opines about her mother, who by all accounts is a bit of a prude.
“There was a time when she wouldn’t even be seen eating a banana in public.”
