4. Jack Webster's Sepsis (2018)

So you know how you often get the "If you've been affected..." messages at the end of episodes, I don't tend to take much notice because as much as I love Corrie and appreciate all the brilliant storylines that raise awareness of real issues, I'm not usually affected by them because they're not real, but this storyline might actually end up being the death of me! I absolutely love it, because it's being done so well, but dear god it is devastating. I wrote a whole post about how much I loved Jack so I won't bore you with it all again, but basically I love Jack, and Kyran Bowes is a lovely little actor who has done a fantastic job not only raising awareness of sepsis as a condition, but also highlighting the ongoing struggles faced afterwards.

It's been sensitively handled and amazingly well acted by all involved, let's just take a minute to appreciate Michael Le Vell and Brooke Vincent as Jack's dad and sister giving what was quite possibly the performance of their lives when making the decision to have Jack's foot amputated, and Kyran of course when Jack was told what had happened. This was only the second time in all my years of watching Corrie that I actually cried (more on the first time later).

This storyline is still ongoing and real life amputee Cassidy Little was recently involved as Greg Kennedy who was trying to help Jack adjust, something that will take time, but is giving out such an important message, that you can still achieve anything if you put your mind to it. God I love this storyline. And did I mention that I love Jack?
