The previews are in for next week’s Coronation Street and Cathy begs Rita for a job at the Kabin. Rita relents and gives Cathy the job but it’s not long before Rita’s wishing she hadn’t bothered. Rita plucks the courage up to sack Cathy but does she have the heart to send her packing?
Meanwhile, Brian runs his latest nativity idea past Cathy but she reckons Phil is putting him under too much pressure.
When Brian reveals that on top of the school play, Phil has piled even more work on him, Cathy resolves to give Phil a piece of her mind. But Brian snaps at her, convinced that he can cope.

I wish TPTB would "pluck up the courage" to sack this character. All her story lines since Roy have been silly and dull.
