Cliff Richard reveals he owes his figure to Minnie Caldwell
If there's a more bizarre headline today I'd love to see it. Pop star Sir Cliff Richard has said that he owes his slimline figure to Corrie's Minnie Caldwell.
Yup, in today's Mirror, Sir Cliff says that he shed a load of weight in 1962 after hearing Minnie tell her pals Ena Sharples and Martha Longhurst on Coronation Street: “Isn’t that Cliff Richard a lovely, chubby lad?”
Cliff said: “I looked in the mirror and I thought, ‘Yes’. I decided it was not for me and so I went on a diet.”
Cliff also once appeared in Coronation Street as an extra drinking at the bar at the Rovers. Here's a few pics from his stint on the Street.
