New pic: Coronation Street set starts expanding

On Friday night last week at the end of the second episode, we were given a glimpse of what life could be like in Coronation Street in the coming months.

As far as I know (but do correct me if I'm wrong), this shot above is the first of its kind that we've ever seen. It looks into Coronation Street from Victoria Street - is that right?

There are plans here showing the Victoria Street extension.

And here's everything you need to know about the new Coronation Street expansion of the set.

Here's what we know so far.

I think it's actually a shot up Rosamund Street from just beyond the viaduct. That's the Rovers on the left.

Yes, we're looking down Rosamund Street towards Victoria Street. This part of the set has been there since 2014.

Yes as above. I don't think we've ever had a shot from this angle before. On the old set, that was the end of the road and there was a mural painted on one of the ITV buildings to pretend there was more to Rosamund Street. Now I suppose it's going to be the corner of Maudsley and Rosamund.

I so want them to use Maudsley St. It's back yards open onto the Coronation Street ginnel, but we never see anyone who lives there putting their bins out, pegging out washing or conducting an illicit affair. Surely the denizens of Maudslet St would also use the Rovers as their local. I can only assume they're a stand-offish lot.

Haha Cobblestone! I've often wondered about the houses on the other side of the ginnel too as we've seen them in the opening credits.

I've watched Corrie for over forty years and have been one of the ones complaining about all of the changes. I still don't like the slickness, the trying to imitate a North American soap.............but..........I am finding that I am looking forward with eager anticipation to this new set. Guess, I didn't like change, but the world's changed hasn't it? Much as I despair of many of these new changes, it the way life works. I do hope they "keep it real" though. People who behave normal that we can still identify. For eg. Liz sans makeup having a brew and morning fag,the guy with the hangover seeking paracetamol(spelling, the useless chitchat between neighbours as they hang up their washing (who did that last?haha)

Looking forward to the new set, although there will always be that spot in my mind for the snug, the mission, the Caff. Roll with the times Corrie!!
But dammit I wish they'd bring back Emily.

I am from the U.S. and I began watching Coronation Street because it was NOT like American soaps. I liked that the people were down to earth, regular folks. Please don't lets lose that

Have you ever really seen someone peeling potatoes in a sequin gown?
