New job for Rosie Webster in Coronation Street

Helen Flanagan, who plays Rosie Webster in Coronation Street, has been speaking to Inside Soap magazine this week as the mag celebrates its 25th birthday.

She says that she's loving being back in Corrie after her time away.  And she reveals that there's a new job for Rosie on the horizon too.

Rosie's not content with being a window cleaner, even in those lovely pink overalls which Helen suggested herself to the costume department. She says: "Originally Rosie was meant to be wearing red overalls for her window cleaning round, but I said that I thought she would prefer a pink jumpsuit instead. I actually spotted her unicorn onesie too and messaged the wardrobe girls straight away!"

Well, Rosie isn't going to be needing overalls or a jumpsuit in her next role as she's got her eyes on the prize of a PA role with Adam and Todd's new legal practice.

Bring it on, it sounds comedy gold to me!

A PA?! Surely she needs computer skills, secretarial / admin qualifications? Still, no dafter than Liz as health centre receptionist - were there any other candidates or interviews? Of course not, as in Corrie anybody can walk into any job, and earn enough to have all their meals in the bistro, cafe or pub.

Definitely comedy gold! Reminds me of the "Mrs. Wiggins" sketches on the Carol Burnett Show. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KIZA7ghxWBQ

Why cant anyone work outside the street??? Send her off far away to work a new job, far enough away that she (and her terrible acting) wont be on my tv anymore

coconno, I agree with you l00! It never ceases to amaze me how Corrie characters get jobs with little or no training. Gail took 1 computer course and got a job as the receptionist at the medical centre(which she deservedly lost because she snooped into Nick's girfriend at the time files). David supposedly a trained stylist, we never saw him doing any training, Tryonne supposedly a master mechanic, we never saw him do any training. Now Liz and Rosie have office jobs with no training. Toyah is supposed a counsellor, yet she works part time at the Rovers. You'd think there might a position at the medical centre. Incredible how easily people get hired on the spot for jobs on Corrie, sadly it isn't like that in real life at all.

To be fair, Rosie did work as a PA at Underworld.

Anonymous 14:33 - We did see David Platt do training. You must have forgotten, or maybe you hadn't start watching yet.

Anon 1433: and of course these "jobs on a plate" make young folk in real life think the world owes them a living.

I'd forgotten about that.

Yes, Rosie worked in Underworld for a year or more as Carla's PA. She couldn't have been that much of a screw up or Carla wouldn't have stood it.

Sorry, but I think Rosie as a window cleaner is far more entertaining.

She was Carla's PA for over two years. She has 10 GCSEs and in some subjects was top of the class.

Plus it IS her ex boyfriend doing the hiring.

10 GCSEs and they have her talking like a complete idiot....its no wonder no one remembers that.
