The Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain bus hit the Coronation Street set yesterday and you can see pictures and read a blog post here.
Cast members got involved, as they do each year, and there were charity nominations from many of the Corrie cast.
Pat Phelan aka actor Connor McIntyre jumped onboard to nominate the Murray Parish Trust, which is dedicated to supporting paediatric facilities benefiting children throughout the South of England.
Joining Connor were Tina O’Brien and Lucy Fallon (Sarah and Bethany Platt). Craig Tinker was next, otherwise known as actor Colson Smith. He nominated Mick Bourke from Castleford Cricket Club for his dedication to the sport and for encouraging him to play for the last 9 years.
Then it was the turn of Tisha Merry and Oliver Farnworth . As Steph and Andy in the show the couple have had to overcome huge hurdles and they were thrilled to be part of our awards which honour incredible people. Oliver told us “The Pride of Britain Awards are truly special. I think it’s an amazing event that really gets to show the best of humanity”.
Former Emmerdale star Ian Kelsey who is now treading the cobbles as dodgy businessman Vinny, an old associate of Phelan set to stir up trouble. Ian nominated BURNAID, a charity that he is now patron of.
