That is indeed a metronome, and I'm guessing it's in Ken's house to help Amy practise her violin...
I'd agree with C in Canada, as that was my first thought. The bigger mystery for me is how on earth do you find these objects, Sunny Jim? I often watch Corrie thinking about Spot the Corrie Prop, and wonder how you find these odd ornaments! I end up scouring rooms to see if there's anything unusual to put to memory. I've never seen one thing from the blog!
It is Daniel/Adam's flat on the shelf!
