Next week we'll see Norris take Mary up the aisle in what could be the Coronation Street wedding of the year. That is, of course, apart from Jenny flaming Bradley's wedding to Johnny Connor and the double-up with Eva and Aidan. I've got my hat already.
But as for Mary and Norris, will it be a match made in heaven when their relationship is based on
a lie?
In advance of the wedding next week, Mary's son Jude and his wife and child will fly in from South Africa. Mary's overjoyed to see them again but Jude thinks his mum is getting wed for all the reasons, even if it is Norris. What he doesn't know is that the wedding is a sham to win a competition prize.
It's Jude's wife Angie - played by Victoria Ekanoye - who notices something's not quite right with Mary and Norris on their wedding day.
As with all soap weddings, nothing is going to go as straighforward as Mary and Norris would like. And when Jude tells Mary he wants to find his dad, Mary has to tell her son about the rape ordeal she went through.
Much as I like Mary and Norris - and I like them a lot - I'm hoping the wedding doesn't go ahead and they don't become Mr and Mrs Cole.

Me too FN, me too! I don't like this storyline at all, it is a disgraceful way to go. So disrespectful to the sanctity of marriage.
And so terribly unlikely, as if Mary would marry a miserable old codger like Norris!
The photo at the top of this article really says it all!
I think that the character of Norris has been softened quite a bit under the new management. He's kinder, he searched for Mary's son, was a huge support during that time. Yes, he's grouchy but it's more endearing. When Rita said last night she was off down the police station to free Gemma he said, I"ll come with you. Not like the old days when he'd rush to get his coat to find out what was happening but more to support Rita. I like him. I like him and Mary together and if they did get married then them living together would be quite funny.
