5 of the Best from Corrie's History This Week

Every day on Twitter the guys who run Corriepedia look back at a handful of storylines which took place on this day in a different year of Coronation Street's history.

And so each Sunday, I take a look at my personal favourite five storylines from those which Corriepedia have alerted us to during the week.

6th August in 2004
Harry Flagg leaves Weatherfield to travel round Europe

7th August in 1996
Derek is furious when Mavis thinks it's his 59th birthday when it's his 60th and there's no party

8th August in 1999
Blanche Hunt returns to Weatherfield to stay permanently. The residents enjoy a day at the races.

9th August in 1993
French lessons go badly: "Bonjour Ken, Je m'appelle Raquel. Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir?" -see picture at top of this blog post.

10th August in 1979
No Corrie for almost three months! The ITV network goes on strike.

The Ken and Raquel scene was wonderful! But I can still see Ken's pained expression, his usual go-to reaction to anything ! and I always liked Harry Flagg!
