MARIA MAKES A TERRIFYING DISCOVERY Maria is horrified to realise Caz bought a laptop from a shop only yards from Pablo’s flat, proving she followed her to London. Meanwhile, Kate rows with Aidan and Eva; she’s angry with them for taking Maria’s side. Determined to prove her innocence, Maria and Aidan search homeless centres in the hope of finding Caz, convinced she’s still alive, but things go from bad to worse when the police point out that the fact Caz knew about her illegal marriage gave Maria a motive to kill her. After a futile search for Caz, Aidan and Maria return to the salon flat, their feelings for one another evident. But as Maria opens her hairdressing bag, she’s horrified to find her scissors covered in blood. Terrified and helpless to the fact she is being set up, what will Maria do?
SARAH IS PULLED IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS When Gary compliments her on her new hair do, Bethany’s quietly thrilled, convinced he fancies her. Knowing Nick’s flat is empty for the evening, Bethany invites Gary for dinner. Gary accepts, assuming Sarah will be there too.
EILEEN WON’T HEAR A BAD WORD ABOUT PHELAN Having had her ears syringed and able to hear again, a relieved Eileen leaves the medical centre with Phelan. Masking his guilt, Phelan tells Eileen how much he cares for her. Elsewhere, Michael’s suspicions are heightened when he watches Phelan and Vinny in the Rovers discussing their nefarious plan, but what exactly has he heard?
ELSEWHERE Luke almost reverses a car into Tracy who drops her phone and it smashes. Wincing in pain, Anna uses crutches for the first time. Yasmeen dumps Sharif’s belongings outside No.6. Alya’s hurt to find out from Sally that Sharif has bolted.

More storylines with inadequate research. You can't just go and have your ears syringed, first you have to soften the wax by pouring warm olive oil into your ears for several days or even weeks.

I disagree - we're tough in England, we do it immediately! I've had it done in England many times and have no side effects, my hearing's fine :)
Unfortunately I have had it done several times, even as a youngstar, while it certainly isn't pleasant it can be done immediately with no preparation.
Must depend on the individual GP in the UK. Round here, you definitely have to soften it before they'll syringe. If you want your ears vacuumed (safer), you have to get referred to the hospital. Only mention this because it's a strange thing to put in an episode for no apparent reason. When Jack Duckworth 'went deaf', it was because he'd got betting slips stuck inside. So that was comic. I don't yet see what Eileen's syringing is leading up to.
Maria knows the shop where Caz bought the mobile phone. Why hasn't she rung them to see if Caz has been caught on CCTV or gone down there with a photo of Caz to see if they remember her?
Well, I do live in England, so it must depend on your GP surgery or local authority, as Humpty Dumpty said.
Now another moan - Luke "nearly running over" Tracy. Luke was already reversing when Tracy came out of the house, and she just stepped into the road without looking, so it was totally her own fault.
I really, really don't want lovely Luke paired off with toxic Tracy! He is too nice and far too young for her what on earth would they have in common!
Caz also left finger prints all over those scissors as well as the case (she did make a cursory attempt to wipe one side of the scissors, but it wouldn't have removed them all). Also, why would anyone stab a person with scissors then put the bloodied weapon back into a hairdressing case without washing them? It's nuts!
Everything that is included seems to be in the programme in order to lead somewhere, or to enable something else to happen. The 40th party at the Rovers is an example, it helped to set up the Sarah / Gary / Bethany thing. So, like you, I'm wondering why Eileen had this out of the blue.
