Brooke Vincent, who plays Sophie Webster in Coronation Street, is taking a break from the show. She'll be starring in Be My Baby, a stage show also starring Ruth Madoc.
Tickets have now gone on sale for the show which will be at the Lowry in October.
Here's the blurb from the show.
It’s 1964. Nineteen year old Mary Adams is sent away to a mother and baby convent to give birth to her illegitimate child shame free, with only a record player for company. Set against the backdrop of iconic girl groups and vocalists like The Ronettes, The Shangri-Las and Dusty Springfield, Mary - along with fellow residents Queenie, Dolores and Norma - must come to terms with their pregnancies, their lives and the fact they may never see their children again.
Starring Brooke Vincent (Coronation Street) in her debut stage role alongside Ruth Madoc (Hi De Hi), this poignant comedy examines the human need for friendship and the naivety of the 1960’s.
