Today, The Sun reveal Jason's leaving storyline. Actor Ryan Thomas announced a few months ago that he was leaving Coronation Street. You can read more on that here.
The Sun reports that Jason will be left a windfall in his dad Tony's will, a sum of around £80,000.
Mr Curry Sauce tells The Sun: "This windfall is part of a series of storylines that will lead to his exit on the show later this year. It’s going to be explosive.”

There we go again, that word 'explosive'. But an original idea, now that really would be explosive.
You are so right about the word "explosive". I blame the Soap Magazines. Every cover has "explosive' headlines and I think TPTB really believe the viewers want these crazy storylines based on the sensational magazine coverage. It's too bad really.I think the majority of viewers just want good solid cohesive storylines that are character and dialogue driven and don't need the constant shock value...which is never shocking as they release so many spoilers anyway.
I was really reminded of this while watching the scene with Kylie and Freddie...when he was talking about his wife and going to the ballet for her 21st birthday and buying the fancy dress for her. It was one of the best scenes I have ever watched on this show. It honestly made me cry. And I thought....THIS is what Corrie Street is about. It was always their strength and the writes etc....should focus on it again.
Perhaps the 'explosive 'storyline is Phelan swindling Jason of his inheritance along with the yard?
Zagg, I completely agree with your comments about Kylie and Freddie. That scene was pure Corrie gold.
I agree with the comments about explosive and sensational plots. I prefer Roy and Cathy's old fashioned romance and their very understated scenes that have that relatable, human touch to anything over-sensationalised.
I agree with the comments about sensationalised and explosive plots. I am a huge Roy and Cathy fan and I prefer their old fashioned romance with its human touch and relatable side to anything overblown and sensational.
I agree completely with you Zagg - Freddie & Kylie are pure Corrie gold. What I don't understand is how they can do some wonderful scenes with these 2 actors, the acting, the scripts are just perfect, and then in the next breath, they just blow it to smithereens with the same old nastiness, bad acting, bad directing, you name it they just can't get it right. I can't figure it out and I guess no one else can either. Totally bizarre.
Not so sure this is great career decision; given his penchant for horrific money management...
There you go! Good call.
I wonder if this might be due to the change in writers per episode that causes this manic behavior in the characters?
