There's a Coronation Street spoiler in today's Sun, so as usual with these things, take them with a pinch of salt as there's no official source for these type of things.
But if you love spoilers as I do and it's out there anyway, let's speculate anyway! The Sun says that Sally and Tim are going to get married.
Tim will pop the question, the Sun says, next month on Coronation Street. He'll get down on one knee as Take That's song Greatest Day plays in the background.
Sally accepts Tim's proposal but there's no details as to when the wedding might take place. I'm hoping for a Christmas wedding. I wonder if Rosie will return for her mum's wedding - either in the form of Helen Flanagan or a new actress?

Oh this makes me happy!
Let's hope it's true. Tim and Sally are a great invention, all the more so because I like to think it was the viewers who kept them together. If the actor hadn't gone off for a second time, I'm sure Kevin would have stolen Sally back. For once, when tptb say 'the viewers love them', they're right. Tim and Sally don't *need* to get married but it confirms their partnership on screen. It doesn't look like Anna will manage to entice Tim away - yet. One thing, writers, please don't give them an 'unexpected baby' story.
Hope this is true, they are the best thing about Corrie at the moment, love them together.
Very glad to hear this, have been dreading the writers putting Tim unbelievably with the godawful Anna Windass.
Fab news. I wonder if she'll have a hyphenated surname?
Sally Webster-Metcalfe. Snobbish Sally at her best!
I hope it's true too, it could be just what's needed after Deirdre dying to lift our spirits.
Webster-Metcalfe!!!! Yes! Perfect in case she ever gets that house in Hale Barnes!
I hope this is true. I don't want them to bring Rosie back. I couldn't stand the character and look how badly Sara and Bethany's return turned out.
Didn't we already go through an awkward proposal and their mutual relief at NOT getting married?!
Yes! This should be fun
Wait, this is Corrie so there will be a lavish wedding in a stately house, but as the vows are being said a mysterious woman will show up and reveal she is Faye's mother and Tim's legal wife.
I love this couple but hate the idea of their getting wed. This is Corrie. The wedding will be a disaster and if they actually get to their vows, their relationship will be doomed to end. Besides, these two would be too busy on the floor or couch to even make it down the aisle!
Why can't they just continue in the irony of prudish Sally living in sin with an illiterate man? They are a great couple as is.
In the tradition of Corrie weddings, there's always drama and this time it will be Kevin telling Sally on her wedding day he wants her back just like Audrey did with Fred Elliot when he was about to marry Bev.
Let's hope it's not true, Hellen Flannigan is a slapper Narcisist! I can't stand her.
Great news...even if this turns out not to be true...a fantastic couple... I wonder if Michelle will do the honours of planning the wedding?? *Posh* of course...would be the key word for Sally!
I don't mind if they get married or not, as long as they keep Sally & Tim together. I really don't like how they keep showing Tim and Anna being so friendly. It is totally misleading.
I suspect Sally would be more likely to want Tim to take her last name, with the reason that (in her mind) she's developed a "network" of contacts at work who know her as Sally Webster, and she doesn't want to start from scratch again.
I agree with other posters though who don't think this couple needs to be married. I really enjoyed the storyline where each thought the other wanted to get married and then both were relieved when they realized the truth. It's realistic to have couples that live together and aren't married.
Yeah, Tim and Sally would be fine married or not. But soaps need weddings and this is better than Sarah Louise and Callum! It could hold all kinds of promise for storylines in future.
But, Webster? Isn't that Kevin's surname? Are Sally & Kev divorced? All of a sudden I can't remember. Imagine Tim taking Kevin's name!
Perhaps Tim should take Sally's maiden name of Seddon! This wedding could be the thing to lift our spirits so long as it doenst turn out to be farcial as usual with the ridiculous will one of them turn up done to death scenario.
I think it would be quite fun. Just look at what happens with Tim and Sal evertytime there is a wedding. There would be a good chance that they will both be late...
