Thanks to Corriepedia:
This was Father O'Brien, ironically played by Stephen BRENNAN.
The year was 1985 and Ivy was in a pickle after getting engaged to divorcee George Wardle. Father O'Brien said that she couldn't marry George and be a Catholic. George was still married in the eyes of the Church.
Despite being ready to give up the Church, Ivy was saddened when George called off the engagement.
She of course went on to marry Don Brennan in 1988.
Bloody hell, just what I didn't need - a pic of my mother-in-law popping up as I merrily scroll through the blog. Thanks for that. Will have nightmares tonight!
(She really does look like her and her character is EXACTLY the same - thanking my lucky stars for the thousands of miles between us)
LMAO What a picture! lol
