Tony might have disappeared from Liz's life on Coronation Street - for now - but he'll be back.
Beverley Callard, who plays Liz, told TV Times magazine this week that Liz and Tony will reunite.
She said. "As an actor I can't see that Liz would ever forgive Tony and Tracy for their affair, but the storyliners keep telling me that they'll put them together at some point."
However, their reunion might be short-lived. Actor Terence Maynard, who plays Tony Stewart, has signed up to do panto this year at The Sunderland Empire.

Well, there it is - a hint again that the actors don't always believe in their storylines. Chris G and Michelle Keegan were both dubious about the way their characters would behave but, hey, a job's a job. When we, on this blog, try and rationalise why something is happening this way or that, or filling in the plot holes, we should remember there often is no rationale. If the actor portraying the role isn't convinced, no wonder viewers get confused.
Stupid storyliners. How can they not realise that they're doing something wrong when actors who have been in their role for as long as Beverley callard are clearly saying my character would never do/act like that. It's frustrating watching out of character storylines, can't imagine how it must feel to have to act them!
Perhaps they'll only reunite them long enough for Liz to tear his face off....in which case it will be a short reunion! lol
It may not be a romantic reunion, though. We should wait and see. I can picture Liz taking him back in order to get Steve's share of the pub signed back again and then turfing him out.
Liz took Jim back after he was abusive to her both verbally and physically. She can forgive the STDs Tony infected her with from Tracy.
Tvor, I hope you are right. Otherwise, I think the writers should listen to the actors who have played these characters for many years and know their history and character.
Well I am glas that Tony is returning as he is a great character but putting him back with Liz?? Please - after all he has done, and not only banging Tracy, there is NO WAY someone like Liz would act like a total doormat over a fella. Stupid and lazy writing again.
