At yesterday's press reveal of the new Coronation Street set, this amazing and quite moving montage was shown. You can now watch it here via the wonders of YouTube on the Coronation Street Blog.
What a lovely tribute to the street. Very moving. Some of those photos I have never seen before. I have seen the 60's eps on DVD and they could walk from no1 to no13 in a few steps. The walls used to shake when the front doors were closed. It looked very dark & repressive in the 70's. Those maisonettes & factory were very ugly. How they ever managed to fit a snug and a select in The Rovers i'll never know. The corner shop looked very small too. No1 looked tiny. It was like half a house. Good to see our Ken. It is silly to write him out of 50 years as if he never existed. Not even allowed to speak now.
Saw this on the MEN site, yes, a loving tribute and it tugged my heart! Only one brief view of Hailey. Am so sad that sucn an icon is basically no more; hopefully never forgotten.
