I can hardly bring myself to write this... Coronation Street this week
are filming the funeral of Hayley Cropper.
There are paparazzi
pictures in some of the tabloids which show a floral coffin and some of the mourners dressed in red as a tribute to Hayley. Carla Connor in particular leads the way in a red coat and dress while Sean Tully's in a red velvet suit.
Julie Hesmondhalgh, who plays, sorry, played Hayley on Coronation Street, said on twitter yesterday that Hayley's death wouldn't be the big Christmas storyline on the Street this year, so it looks set to take place in the New Year.
Our blogger Graeme travelled to Weatherfield earlier this week to meet Julie Hesmondhalgh. He talked to her about Hayley's death on Corrie and we'll be doing a full write-up in due course for the Coronation Street Blog.

I've never been happier to see an actress spread her wings and move on to new challenges and artistic heights.
I've never been sadder to see a character permanently leave the Street.
The yin and yang of Corrie in two sentences.
Not a dry eye in the house. Just PLEASE do not pair Royston up with that oddball Mary is all Frosty asks. If she begins another sentence with Ah Ah Ah - I am gonna scream!
Looking forward to reading your interview with Julie. When do you think it will online?
I couldn't have said it better than Digger in the first comment. .
Looking forward to Graeme's interview!
It's a miracle no one has blamed Stuart Blackburn yet for giving Hayley that hideous coffin.
It's too soon!! I'm not ready!
Yes, the coffin does rather look like a decoupage gift box. I imagine Roy is following Hayley's orders.
I'm really pleased to see that this won't be the big Christmas story. I don't like tears with my Christmas dinner.
It might not be the main Christmas story, but it will surely be the tear jerker. Hayley will be quite poorly by then and it will be their last Christmas together, so make sure you have the tissues ready.
