Coronation Street writers have won the award in tonight's Writer's Guild of Great Britain Awards.
Corrie writer Damon Rochefort collected the award on behalf of Coronation Street, who won the award for Best Continuing Drama.

Well done.
No matter how critical we are about the often unbelievable story lines,I still believe that the comedy that runs like a vein through the many of the characters is what makes it more than a cut above EE for example when I can only think of one memorable time that the characters actually had fun on screen.
