I've been thinking about Tim this weekend. You saw him snap at Chesney. That came out of nowhere. But is it the first crack in the nice guy facade or was it just a bad mood? Nice guys are allowed to have the occasional temper.
So far, the powers that be are being careful in how they're filling out Tim's personality. I'm curious as to where it's all going and have blogged a few thoughts over here.
What do you think of Tim? Good guy or bad?

I have no idea what to think of Tim. Having been on the canvas for a while now they should have better established who he is. Maybe it's because he came in during the transition from Collinson to Blackburn, they really couldn't establish too much at the time, kind of leaving some blank slates until the new regime could take over. But I don't know how much influence Stuart Blackburn will have on the show and the characters. My guess is several characters will suddenly go in dramatically different directions. Personally I hope they don't make Tim a shady character, because that would seem like the easiest way to go with him. Problem is, he's linked to one of the most unlikeable characters and storylines on the show right now. I could see him and the story being dropped altogether. Like Tim, I'm hoping characters like Ryan and Rob will find their place on the show as well. Ryan just seems to be more plot device than character. And Rob, well...he looks nice with his shirt off. While I don't want to see a brutal cast cull under Blackburn's reign, if characters just aren't meshing, what's the point. Trim the fat.
Hmmmm..... I wonder if Faye the nasty will go and stay with him after she's accused Anna of hitting her and then Tim snaps and plants her one for real.....Boy who cried wolf and all that!! I see Tim more as an occasional father rather than a full time one.
Kiwi Kim
At first I didn't much care for this story. But I'm enjoying it more now for the simple fact that St Ella and her loathsome mother haven't wormed their way into it, at least not yet. Tim definitely needs more fleshing out as a character.
Hard to tell...the writers have made him quite aloof thus far, yet there was something very sinister in the way he snapped at Chesney. He showers Faye with affection and seems not to notice Anna and Owen's concerned looks, and he usually follows Anna's lead (like telling Faye she couldn't sleep over) to keep the peace when it's rational to do so. But something has to happen because this is Corrie. Hopefully they'll not do a total flip à la Karl and just make Tim some random psychopath without reason. I think a love triangle between he, Anna, and Owen would be interesting down the line.
Hm there is obviously more than meets the eye with Tim and in true soap style no doubt he will turn out to be an bad un and Owen will be the hero of the hour.
FJH you mention a love triangle, I presume you mean involving Anna rather than Owen. Frosty did hear a rumour that Tim could be Sean's new boyfriend but that could be a red herring like Brian and Julie's greengrocer story.
Faye must get her nasty nature from somewhere ............
And FJH.....NO NO NO, we don't need a love triangle with Tim, Anna & Owen. If Anna ends up with Tim, that would be playing right into Faye's hands and giving her what she wants. And if that happens, I'm out of here for good! Absolutely despise Faye, the less air time she gets, the better!
I don't like Faye either mainly because she's the spit of someone I know and have the same manipulation and lies from . I also can't stand Owen who is trying to pretend not to be the violent aggressor he was. And when exactly did he move in with Anna? I must've blinked and missed it . Anna is ok , hardly a laugh a minute like she used to be with Eddie , but ok. Tim ? I can take or leave .
I hope they don't make Tim a baddie, it would be too easy to do. I think Tim snapping at Chesney was more for the benefit of fleshing out Chesney a little - he (Chez) feels humiliated b/c of Katie and so bridles at being called an idiot. If you get my gist.
I want Tim and Anna to have an affair and 'Orrible Owen to sod off, and Tina and Gary to have an affair and Izzy the Mizzy to sod off too.
If there was a dark side to Tim, we would see a look to camera as with most soap villains. Very occasionally that's happened but mostly he's a blank page. I can't see where this is going with Tim and Faye; he wouldn't be in a position to look full time after a young girl. Anyway, it's quite irresponsible of Anna to think it's OK for Faye to live with Tim. His risk assessment did not include caring for a child at home. I haven't got much time for Anna, I'm afraid. She's very irritating, and I don't really care what happens to any character in that storyline.
I agree with Chatty Kathy: ANy story without Stella/Eva/Gloria is a good one. If we can't keep them out of the soap, let us only speak about on this blog the stories they are not in.
Oh yes..I can see that Tim has a dark side..he's up to something but I doubt the real Tim will show his true colours until he has Faye right where he wants her. Should be interesting..at least I hope so.
I think that if Tim had no contact with Faye for all those years, there must have been a pretty good reason (ie, serving at Her Majesty's pleasure). That plus Faye's biological mom died in squalor, something was very wrong there. Kiwi Kim's cry wolf idea could make a very interesting story. Faye's accusations nearly destroy Anna, Tim physically hurts Faye, Anna heals and fights to get her back; Jason and Gary get more screen time in supporting roles. It's all good, as long as it doesn't go OTT.
This is Corrie, how could it not go OTT.
I think he's going to revealed as a serial-killing rapist (who's also gay, for a bit of variety) and who is going to hold Faye hostage in Underworld and then blow it up "in an explosive storyline". A spokesman said "Corrie viewers will be on their edge of their seats and gasping for breath as they watch events unfold".
AT LEAST TIM DOESNT CHUCK PEOPLE IN THE STREET FAYE HAS MADE THE RIGHT DESCION TO MOVE IN WIH HER DAD IN THE END WHY DONT THE WINDASS/ARMSTRONG FAMILLIES MOVE OUT OF THE STREET FOREVER AND NEVER COME BACK GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH ANNA IS THE RING LEADER I CAN SEE THIS COMMING THE POLICE WILL ARREST ALL OF THE WINDASS/ARMSTRONG CLAN & THAT WILL BE THE END OF THE WINDASSES AND ARMSTRONGS FOR GOOD
