With the news that Beth's niece Sinead Tinker arrives on Coronation Street next week and starts casting a glad eye at Chesney, my thoughts turn to that other youngster in Beth's life - her son Craig.
Where's he gone?
He's fantastic but hasn't been seen on screen very much at all lately.
I was hoping the relationship between Craig and Kirk, now they're all living together with Darryl the rat, could be explored more, but it hasn't happened yet.
Have Corrie forgotten Craig?
Let's hope not and by the look of this picture below of actor Colson Smith, who plays Craig, he is still on the cobbles, if being underused.
Colson was pictured for the Leeds United football club blog Idradebeleeds

Oh yes! He's a gem - hope to see him more often in future. Lots of comedy potential there. And how about a storyline for the delectable Dr Carter?
Let's have more of Craig and LESS of Stella and Boria. Stuart Blackburn didnt get off to a good start with Frosty with his first episode with the Expressionless Beige Lady in it constantly.
Well we'd better get used to it because we're in for the long haul IMO. Stella and Karl will be front and centre for the next while. Karl becomes totally fixated on Stella who finally realizes that he's lost the plot and tries to get rid, only to have him hatch a plot to kill them both..murder/suicide..then they can be together forever.
He's a student, so he's obviously in school.
I've a mixed mind about more Craig. While I like him, if seeing more of him means more of Beth, then I vote no. I really can't stand her character. Craig and Kirkeh - okay. Craig alone - fine. Craig and anyone else - sure. Craig and Beth - uhuh.
And of course pretty newcomer Sinead will be interested in that hot Corrie chick magnet, Chesney. *Snort*
Craig is comedy gold and many stories could involve him with Diedre, Ken,Kirk,Norris,Roy and Sylvia with great results. Beigey and Boria have got to go - God awful acting even if many say Sue J was a wonderful actress in something else - Coronation St she is not.
Agree with ChiaGwen -- as a family, Beth and Craig with Kirk are a much more friendly family, give more to the community, and offer more opportunities for comedy and drama than Beigey, Boria, Leva-pls, and Karl-gone-wrong. I really had high hopes for Karl way back, but now can't wait for him and the rest of that clan to be gone.
Clearly in the Kid Cupboard.
The optics of having seen little of Craig, while introducing a new young blonde female to the family aren't that great, imo. I did like 'Scout' in Waterloo Road, but still. Craig is a brill character, and the actor has good comic timing.
I do like Beth, especially on her first date with Kirky. More of that sort of thing, less of boring sits in the pub.
Craig will be back - I hope. Hope Karl gets found out sooner or later, for reasons given by others. Craig liked the old living arrangements where he had a pseudo sibling. He isn't a chick magnet, but it doesn't meant that he doesn't have friends that we don't know of.
Beth is just pawning Sinead off on Ches so that she can get more time with Kirk - so I suspect that Sinead doesn't have much luck with guys if she will let Beth set her up. She seems older than cousin Craig, but Craig could be who she turns to for advice because he knows the street. Craig is more of an observer so far, so the sort that is apt to be called upon. Think half remember reference to him being out with friends off stage to explain his absences from scenes.
Besides Sinead, there are Roy's three siblings about to be introduced. We know that they are over a decade younger at least - but not even if they have the same mom. They could be as young as Jason and Sean or have kids Craig's age.
Craig reminds me of one of the characters from Kids in the Hall: When Death Came to Town.
