Preview of tonight's double Corrie - Friday 22 April

Friday 22nd April
MICHELLE’S BIRTHDAY TAKES AN UNEXPECTED TURN As Michelle opens her birthday cards, a bouquet arrives but they’re from Will, not Steve and Michelle is disappointed. Will calls at the pub with a birthday cake for Michelle and telling her Saskia’s away, suggests she comes round for dinner. They’re interrupted by Liz whose disapproval is evident and Will heads off in haste. When Tim unwittingly reveals that he’s sent a driver to the airport to collect Steve, Michelle’s overjoyed to realise her husband is coming home for her birthday after all. When it emerges that Steve wasn’t on the flight, Michelle is upset and convinced Steve no longer cares about her. She heads to Will’s house. Kissing her on the cheek, Will shows her in.
PHELAN PLAYS POLITICS WITH SALLY Sally’s annoyed at Tim for failing to deliver the leaflets advertising the meeting about the proposed Freshco plans. When Rita lets slip that Sally is on the Planning Committee and intends to fight the Freshco development, Phelan takes her for a drink and tries to get her on side over the Freshcos development. Will he get his way?
SOPHIE’S DISAPPOINTED AT CAZ’S RETURN Whilst Kate makes up a bed for Caz’s return, Johnny warns her not to get her hopes up as Caz has made her feelings perfectly clear. Caz arrives home on crutches and as Kate and Johnny help her into the flat, Sophie approaches but Caz gives her short shrift leaving Sophie’s feelings hurt.
ELSEWHERE Bethany admits to Luke she’s being bullied and Luke’s deeply concerned. As Lauren and her mates lay into Bethany at a bus stop, Luke swings by in a sports car and the pair roar off leaving the bullies open-mouthed.  Bethany thanks Luke for coming to her rescue. Alex arrives in the cafĂ© hungover and sporting a tattoo and Cathy’s seriously unimpressed.

Friday 22nd April

MICHELLE CAVES INTO HER PASSION Liz breaks the news that Michelle’s party is cancelled as Steve failed to show up. Michelle confides in Will she just wants to be with someone who cares about her.  Will kisses her and she responds passionately. Steve arrives in the Rovers, tanned and relaxed and carrying a cane donkey. Liz demands to know where he’s been. Michelle leads Will upstairs and they kiss again. Suddenly coming to her senses, Michelle pushes Will away and telling him she loves Steve, leaves in haste.  Will’s disappointed. Michelle arrives home to find Steve in the living room.  They hug and Michelle cries in his arms, regretting what has happened with Will.
PHELAN PAINTS A VULGAR PICTURE Phelan breaks in and trashes the community centre. Todd watches him leave, wondering what he’s been up to. Yasmeen’s shocked to discover the wrecked centre but Phelan steps in and offers to sort out the mess at a knockdown price. Yasmeen’s grateful for his kindness. Sally moans to Tim and Todd how the Freshcos meeting is off as the community centre has been trashed, but what a saviour Phelan has been. Todd’s suspicious and confronts Phelan telling him he might have fooled everyone else but he knows he was behind the community centre vandalism. Phelan’s unfazed.
ALEX RELISHES HIS NEW FOUND INDEPENDENCE Cathy’s alarmed to learn from Alex that Nessa is out with her new boyfriend all the time and takes little or no interest in what Alex gets up to. Cathy’s not happy to find Alex drinking with the lads in the Rovers.
ELSEWHERE Caz blames Sophie for ruining her wedding. She tells Kate that if they’re to salvage their relationship, she can’t be friends with Sophie any more. Kate relays this to Sophie who is very upset.

I really don't like third party interference in couples' relationships. Thus I detest the Will/Michelle thing and also the Sophie/Kate thing.

Terrible storylines. Will and Sophie should keep their nebs out.

What's the betting Michelle will have a "pregnancy scare" in a few week's time? Yawn.

But at least no "Who's the Daddy?" because she resisted Will in the end. Stupid storyline though, as if they'd been pining for each other for 26 years. Also doesn't fit with Dean, Ryan's father, being the love of.her life.

Does anyone think that they are setting Phelan up as the next person murdered? They are certainly making a nice line up of suspects...

Not from just an injudicious snog!

I've been thinking just that for some weeks now. He's building up quite a portfolio of enemies.

Maybe I'm wrong about this but didn't Michelle pressure Steve to get a vasectenomoy? If that's the case, perhaps that's how the affair is revealed.
I'm also bored with Michelle's crying scenes as she does not get my sympathy especially after she accused Steve of having' blood on his hands'when Tina was murdered because he kept quiet about her affair with Peter,an accusation which led to his depression.

Caz on crutches so she can make a dramatic recovery - so boring! Why couldn't they do something more dramatic with her accident like have a 'horrendous' facial scar like Todd's ;)

Anon 1604: Steve did indeed have a vasectomy when Michelle had a pregnancy scare some years ago, though I never understood why she didn't want a baby. But in this case it would have to be an immaculate conception because she didn't sleep with Will!

Hate the Sophie/Caz/Kate storyline! Does anyone know what "Caz" is short form for? I find Kate extremely immature and incapable of making any kind of decision on her own. How old is she supposed to be - does anyone know? In my humble opinion I think Kate acts like she is frightened of Caz. Sophie needs to back off and mind her own business!
Speaking of backing off - if silly Sally doesn't settle down and stop nagging at Tim her marriage will break up. I have been married a lot longer than Sally, decades longer, and wouldn't dream of treating my husband like she does. By the way my husband is awesome. I think Sally's political career is going to blow up in her face. She doesn't have a clue what she is doing.

What an especially boring episode. Time I'll never get back! :-(. Won't be watching for a while. Only good thing was the handsome Will. But Michelle was boring, the Sophie-Kate-Caz love triangle is incredibly boring.... does anyone care at all? As for Phelan, the actor playing him is good but I'm getting bored of him --- enough already...
