Coronation Street Episode Review; Weds 01 May 8.30pm

As promised, here is part two of this Wednesday's Corrie, all wrapped up in a handy blog review.

Confronting Shona, Leanne is reluctant to believe her hypothesis of Nick's involvement with the sabotage.

In the Rovers' back room, Gemma continues to convey her ambivalence and rallies against her feelings towards Chesney. Ryan lends a sympathetic ear and gives his friend some advice.

Over the healthy dinner, Sally's quinoa feast is devoured by Tracy, but Tim plays his poker face and pretends to enjoy the kale.

Continuing questioning, the police get heavy with Nick and scrutinise his divorce payments- he claims that he received a wedge from his ex-wife, but can Nick connive the coppers?. Paula steams into full defensive mode. I'm really glad she's back!

Also on the defence, Imran decides to call one of his solicitor friends, to see if he can find out any dirt on Nick's arrest.

Seeing Gemma come out of the back room with Ryan, Chesney gets the wrong end of the stick and gets on the wrong side of Paul. Later, Paul tells Gemma that maybe it's time to tell Chesney the truth.

When is a 'date' not a 'date'?... when it's with Mary, it seems. Jan seems very uncomfortable with Mary and creates a deceased girlfriend, just to escape her fervent flirtation. Mary completely misconstrues Jan's attempt to cool her off and decides that she must divorce Norris so she can continue the courtship.

Back at the station, the police let Nick go due to a lack of evidence. David is quick to find out if they know anything about Audrey's money. Hearing that Nick's not been charged, Imran is on the warpath.

Also realising that she's been duped, a scorned Sally reveals Tim's secret snack stash to the dinner guests, with Steve and Dev getting the blame. Soon realising the error of his ways, Tim decides to try Sally's healthy diet after all.

Meanwhile, Brian reviews Abi's short story attempt, only to realise she's plagiarised the plot from the faux TV show 'Zombizee'!. Brian still convinces Abi to have another crack at writing.

Arriving back on the street, Imran decides to have a crack at Nick, and belts him one!.

Toyah again tries to convince Leanne that Nick is guilty of the factory sabotage, just as Nick returns all covered in blood from the punch. Leanne then decides this is the time to question him about what Shona overheard. Laying on the charm, Nick convinces Leanne that he's innocent. His feigned injustice works and he tells Toyah and Imran to move out immediately.

How far can Nick go, and is he really behind the factory collapse?.

Stay tuned. I shall be back same time next week

It was great to see Ryan Prescott back on screen. He's an under used actor and has great screen presence and does well with what he's given.

It's a shame he's now relying on being featured as a special guest in what is now the Gemma Show.

Give him and James Burrows (Ali) a storyline!

Agree completely! There are so many under utilized characters on the show, everyone seems to be tired of Gemma and Chesney why can't the powers that be see that!
