More of Dr Gaddas - Yay or Nay?

Dr Gaddas has treated the residents of Coronation Street for their ailments since she first appeared on screen back in 2014. She's helped treat Max Turner's ADHD, Steve McDonald's depression,  Beth Tinker's rash, Michael Rodwell's heart condition, Johnny Connor's MS, Faye Windass' pregnancy, Hope Stape's cancer and been sympathetic to an un-pregnant Eva.

With the expansion of the Coronation Street set in the coming months (you can read more on that here) I do hope we will see more of Dr Gaddas. I like her. Always unflappable, always keeps a secret, always honours the doctor-patient confidentiality that she's bound to.

The actor who plays Dr Gaddas is Christine Mackie and she has appeared in three earlier roles on Coronation Street as follows. With thanks to Corriepedia!

A Nurse based at Blackpool's Victoria Hospital where Rita Fairclough was briefly admitted in December 1989. More here.

Chris Jones between April and May 1992.

Salsa dancing instructor Bella in May 2010. More here.

Would you enjoy seeing more of Dr Gaddas in Coronation Street and finding out more about her? I say YAY!

Yes. I like her whole no-nonsense persona. She could play the sort of voice-of-reason role Yasmeen looked set to occupy, but the writers seem to have set her adrift...

She seems like a very moral character. So if we see more of her, it's unlikely she'd be having affairs or killing anyone. Let's keep her!!

Yes, I'd like to see her be a secondary character. Let her make friends with Roy and Yasmeen.

Definite "yay" as a secondary character.

Absolutely. An educated professional is always welcome - although somehow never written well for.

I think she is best off where she is, because if they bring her to the forefront, they will turn her insane, and have her lose her medical licence, and she will either end up working in the factory, or arrested and gone. It's nice to have a professional intelligent woman there, let's not mess with her!
