Derek Griffiths returns to Television
Derek Griffiths, who played Freddie in Coronation Street, is returning to television in a new Channel 4 drama.
Derek will be appearing in the next series of Man Down which starts in August.
Man Down is a comedy series written by and starring Greg Davies as Dan, a childish idiot whose world is on the brink of collapse.
Derek is also starring in the stage play Driving Miss Daisy which is now on national tour. He'll be starring alongside Dame SiĆ¢n Phillips (I, Claudius, Dune, Marlene, Cabaret) in the heart-touching production made famous by the 1989 Academy Award-winning film.
Set in Atlanta, Georgia, the story begins one day in 1948 when a prickly, 72-year-old Jewish widow, Daisy Werthan, crashes her car. Deemed too old to drive, her son hires her a chauffeur, an African-American named Hoke Colburn. Daisy and Hoke’s relationship gets off to a rocky start, but as times change across the course of a 25 year backdrop of prejudice, inequality and civil unrest, a profound and life-altering friendship blossoms.Read more Corrie news, interviews and spoilers

Corrie was stupid, stupid, STUPID to let this actor go under-utilized. No wonder he left! Can't imagine what the powers that be were thinking!
Glad to find out he's doing well. Corrie let a great opportunity pass by losing him.
