Inside Soap Awards: Ruxandra Porojnicu,"We'd never heard of Coronation Street in Romania!"

In this week's Inside Soap magazine there's a fantastic insert with pictures and interviews of some of the Corrie cast who are nominated in this year's awards.

Ruxandra Porojnicu, who plays Alina Pop, is nominated for Best Newcomer. 

She says that she'd never heard of Coronation Street in her home country of Romania.

She says: "I didn't grow up with Corrie like other people. We do have loads of Spanish soap opera, though, so I think it's in my blood."

She also says that she'd love to work with Maureen Lipman, who plays Evelyn and that she'd love the chance to revisit Alina Pop's slavery storyline. "There is so much more for me to learn and I would love to see Alina go back to Seb."
