Do you have an excellent editorial judgement and an eye for detail? Do you fancy working on the world famous cobbles?
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Script Producer to support our Writers, Script Editors and Production Team in ensuring that all of Coronation Street's scripts meet the highest standard, both editorially and in production terms.
You will attend and contribute to commissioning conferences, offering notes and solutions on scene breakdowns, read all submitted scripts and offer creative and structural editing notes to the Producer(s) warning of major continuity, technical, schedule and cast issues.
You’d be required to lead first and third draft script meetings in line with the Producer(s) notes/comments. You will attend all second draft script meetings. At all draft stages you will submit detailed creative and structural editing notes, warning of continuity, technical, schedule and cast issues.
Managing the Script Editing team on a day to day basis you will make sure the team are working at full speed and efficiency, mentor and train and manage all staff leave, and also carry out regular performance meetings. You must have the ability to deal with a wide range of personalities, on all levels, adapting style and approach as necessary with the ability to work accurately under pressure, in order to meet tight deadlines.
Experience of managing a department and developing people is essential, as is an excellent knowledge of scripts and processes, preferably on continuing drama. Due to the nature of the role, absolute confidentiality is required.
