Wow, Emmerdale really cleaned up with EE not even getting a look in at all! That's quite a change. I wonder when the cut off for nominations is. Lucy Fallon should surely win something next year and Rob Mallard for this week's scenes as well. Nominations to be sure. I'm quite please Mallard won best newcoming. He's really, very good. All the ones Corrie won are so well deserved this year.

Jack P Shepherd robbed again.

I agree that Jack Shepherd was robbed. These soap awards always go in shifts. Last years was EE's time, this year it was Emmerdale. Personally,I I think they sway them so all the soaps get their due and more revenue, eventually. For 2014 Corrie won 11, for 2015 EE won 8. This year it was all about Emmerdale. That's the way it goes.

Jack was great, again, this year but from the Ashley's dementia episodes i saw, John Middleton was truly outstanding in a more challenging role that came to a head later. In the year. I don't think JPS should feel slighted, and when there is an equivalent story for him, I think he will be up to the task.

I think it's the timing of when the storylines climaxed that played against Corrie. Shepherd was incredible but it was far from the next award season. The same thing may happen to Fallon unless this storyline gets dragged on for quite some time. If it finishes by fall, she'll probably be passed over next year the same way Jack P. was this year.
I suppose in the long run getting good ratings is more important than awards for a show's continued existence but it's unfair as far as recognitions go.

Jack himself said that the storylines that are closer to the award time is the one more likely to win. Good attitude. I hope he knows that with or without awards we love his portrayal of David Platt. To me he is already an iconic character despite his young age. :-)
