'Cook a Dish for Corrie' - winner announced

Move over Betty's Hot Pot. Marilyn's Corrie Cobbler is taking your place. Marilyn Bersey from the Isle of Wight has won the ITV competition to 'Cook a Dish For Corrie'.

A panel of three judges, including celebrity chef Phil Vickery, voted Mal's Corrie Cobbler the top dish over the other contestants. Her recipe will now replace Betty's Hotpot on Coronation Street.

Before the winner was announced Mal, who's been a fan of the show since it began, said "It would be wonderful to be a part of something that's been a part of my life for 50 years."

Find out more about Mal and get the recipe for her Corrie Cobbler at ITV's This Morning website.

Am I understanding this correctly? "Replacing" Betty's hotpot? I'm sure this is a lovely recipe and all, but surely they can't just ditch Betty's hotpot? *scandalised*

I understood Betty is to remain on the Street. So is she going to stop making the Hotpot?

Maybe there will be a storyline of an argument with Steve and Becky who tell her they want to change after all these years.
