They turned up again on Corrie last night and it's not the first time we've seen Mrs Renshaw and Mrs Renshaw.
But does anyone know anything about the ladies who play the Renshaw twins? Extensive research (aka Googling for more than 20 seconds) has turned up... zilch.

I think they should be in it permantly and they should work in the pub or factory and be a relative to someone. They are amazing and I think they might be twins in real life :)
There could be some great comedy with the twins; people mistaking who's who.
I love the Renshaw twins - they've got to be twins in real life, surely - or sisters anyway.
They need some more dialogue in their scenes in the salon!
They're the Renshaw twins... but they're both married. Which means they're both married to a Mr Renshaw. Which means an appearance by their twin husbands MUST happen!
They must be twin actresses. They do look identical and yes, i wondered why both were "Mrs" unless that was just a sign of respect more than anything.
It's a sign of a scriptwriter not thinking before typing... But now I insist we meet the twin husbands, too! I expect they're very small men...
Now, I love this sort of Corrie whimsey, but clearly they cannot be both married to two seperate men called Renshaw. On the other hand, think about what happens in intimate communities ... yes, they could both be married, but one could be - say Mrs Smithson, while the other is, maybe, Mrs Bickerstaff ... (or what you will) but the likes of Emily Bishop, who has known them since they were wee girls, would still refer to them as the Renshaw twins.
On the other hand, they still dress identically, so if they're married women (and not married to the self same Mr Renshaw) they're clearly retarded ... Come on, they HAVE to be unmarried spinster sisters!
But lovely as the idea is, these ladies have clearly been cast as Extras; most extras' limit is walking into a scene, or maybe supping a pint in the background ... don't wish for dialogue, or, God Forbid, plot-lines ... you think Tracyluv's bad? Seriously, you don't want Corrie to go there!
Cobblestone, maybe they're twins married to twins :) I hope so!
I hadn't noticed them before last nights ep, guess I've had my eyes shut ;)
They certainly look like they are related in real life... maybe sisters... fraternal... identical?
They have been referenced in the salon from time to time but this is only the second time we've seen them on screen and they're little more than extras. I think as Cobblestone says, they're better just as the occaisional whimsy. The women are probably ... oh i don't know, maybe they work in the Granada cafeteria or in the costume department or something!
Why should their husbands be twins? They could be brothers of different ages ?
Yes, but I've got a dull life and it would be a bit of excitement for me if they were twins rather than brothers.
I think it would be funny to see them at least once a month - turn up in the rovers, bookies, etc
Never saying a word...but just being silent witnesses to the goings on.
It would be hilarious.
They could perhaps alternate with Fat Brenda and write a blog here!
I haven't seen the show but someone told me they were twins we used to work with so I started googling to get a picture and yep, I did work them them both but I'm not prepared to give their names. They are twins in real life but they were both single when I knew them.
Where they not on the cast list of the relevant episodes?
What is the big secret?
No, they weren't listed in the credits. I asked ITV but was given a reply that as they were non-speaking extras they weren't listed and wouldn't give me their names... !!
Yes they really are twins .. one is called Janine and I have forgotten the others name .. I remember them for their amazing red hair long and flowing .. they are scousers in their early sixties !
Gloria ...
we're gripped!!!
I am pretty sure I saw one of those twins recently on our screen in the episode that first aired May 20/10. She was in the salon and they called her Mrs. Boothsby. She even spoke three words. When asked by Natasha if her daughter was in prison, she replied "Secure Psychiatric Unit". I don't have it saved, so can't check the credits, but it sure looked like one of them.
The twins are retired ex work colleagues of mine, Janine and Barbara. Janine is the one at the front of the picture and The other is Barbara. They are proper twins, 'mirror identical'. The producers on corrie have given them both the same hair style and glasses to make them look more the same as its normally quite easy to tell them apart when they are together. I daren't tell you too much about them, they may want to keep it personal. Their younger brother is a producer of some sort on the programme. The ladies have for some years been popping up on Corrie. People at work comment when they've been on. I don't watch the prog personally but I was pleasantly surprised when they popped up on Harry Hill's Y=TV Burp. They have a name now I see, and have spoken. I reckon within a couple of years they'll be bona fide cast members! On a personal note, they were both section Managers where I work and are just the nicest ladies you'll ever meet. When I see them I'll point them to your blog and perhaps they'll provide you with more biographical detail.
Ooh lovely thank you so much for the information! We'd love to hear from them and maybe even have an exclusive interview!
@Phil Birch - are you the same guy who was the MD of Big L ?!
we need to see the renshaw twins in corrinations street think they would be fantastic addition to the street
Let's see MORE of the Renshaw twins please ! They should be main characters as they would be a breath of fresh air to the show. Maybe they could have an affair with Norris or Ken Barlow ! Just a thought.
The twins are twins in real life and they go to my church. They are lovely xxx
