Corrie cast member leaves - and the cops are called

The Mirror reports today that police were called to a Coronation Street leaving party after a fight broke out.

This is news indeed and you can read the story here. Coronation Street were unavailable for comment.

However, what this clearly means is that Andy Carver, played by Oliver Farnworth, is leaving Coronation Street.

We already know that Andy will lamp Phelan one and the villain ends up in hospital.  Does Andy's exit have anything to do with this, I wonder?

DOUBLE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I guess I don't get my Christmas wish list. Awwww I was afraid that it would come to him leaving, especially since he bopped Pat on the head. Bummer. I would take Andy 10 times over rather than the new Barlow boys.

Treble Noooooooooooooooooo!

One of the best actors there, it'll be a shame to lose him.

That article says he'll only be away from filming for 7 weeks as he's doing a play with Les Dennis so it would seem he will be back. But then, why have a leaving do?

Quadruple no! I was looking forward to Andy finally having a good script again. I should have guessed when they made Daniel bookish that they didn't need Andy the future writer anymore. It wouldn't do to have too many smart characters around.

Tvor - that para in the Mirror article is wrong. The dockside play was this year.

Am I the only one whos happy he's leaving? He cant act at all. Doesnt matter if Andy is happy, annoyed with Steph, mad, or joking, he's got that "who farted?" look and the same dull way of talking. Bye Andy!

Maybe it's not Andy who's leaving but Phelan who dies? Why on Earth would a fight break out? Unless there were some non-Corrie folk there? Life on the Corrie set surely can't be than contentious?

Ahh well they haven't really known what to do with him since his first main storyline. It's too bad. We need a genuinely nice guy like Andy around.

The article linked to says it was just other patrons not Corrie actors or employees. Andy is holding a go-away cake so it seems to be him although, come to think of it, since when would the guest of honor be given his cake to carry home.

Surely they are confused; he was in a play with Les Dennis last summer. I can't believe they're doing it again so soon.

I really hope they are confused and he isn't going away, although from the previews I have read it seems like soap laws will prevail and we will loose our beloved Andy. Drats. I'm not sure I'm following the path the new producer is taking - I can't believe how many people are joining the show even if it is for a short period of time - I was dizzy just trying to keep track of who's who. I'm not against new people, but I just wish they would keep the regular characters we already know and love.

I should have known Andy would be leaving. What a shame. I really thought something would become of him and Steph. I am disappointed in all the old cast members and new ones that are coming on the show. I am disappointed in the writers, it's becoming way to much, enough is enough.
