Bertie Barlow what a stupid name. Did they even think it through?

He’ll be Bertie Osbourne surely? Or maybe Bertie Tinker?

Good point Charles, that name sounds much better! My mistake.

Funny that they'd name the baby after Albert Tatlock, who Daniel never met and isn't actually related to - Albert was Val's uncle, not Ken's! He is a legendary figure within the family, though, I guess.

Jeanie (anon): Just silly, as well as contrived on the writers' part. If Daniel is so estranged from his father that he would never consider naming the baby after Ken, then why on earth would he name him after Ken's long-forgotten uncle-in-law? Totally preposterous. Albert might have history with the fans but he has little significance to anyone in the show, particularly Sinead and Daniel.

I don't think Daniel naming his son after Uncle Albert 'stupid'or contrived.
I thought it was a nice gesture on Daniel's part to make amends to his father for the bad way he's treated Ken recently and to remember Albert who was a beloved member of Ken's family.
I think it's nice that family members from the past are still remembered.

I am looking forward to the Barberbshop. Excellent next step for the character David, as long as 'getting shadier by the episode" Nick doesn't mess him about too much. Good times should follow.
