That one sentence summary of the spoilers for next week illustrates perfectly what is wrong with the show at the moment. One weak token attempt at "comedy" amid a wasteland of misery.

I agree about Coronation Street being a wasteland of misery and all of it again centered around the Platts!
It's tedious to watch sometimes the same family dominating storylines.
